I hope there wasn't any rescue personnel inside working to save the barrels that had survived the first collapse

I'm sure Barton has been planning its equivalent of the Colonel E.H. Taylor Tornado Surviving bourbon; that originated when a Buffalo Trace warehouse was destroyed by a tornado in 2006.

Or the Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix. A heavy snowfall collapsed a warehouse there in 2010.

If life hands you a lemon, bottle a special edition ;)

From the looks of the pile they will now be able to salvage a lot of the product. It will be interesting to hear the final report on the cause.

Wonder what the barrels on the bottom look like? Looks like most on top are intact.

Thoughts & prayers... ;)

Half the building fell down first......

....so they wait until the second half falls without removing any of the barrels. It's a crying shame, but they could have moved the barrels out. I hope too many of those barrels aren't crushed. They were worried about alcohol getting into a stream.

It was probably deemed too unstable to be safe for workers. I thought II saw a pic where they had started bracing up the walls in hopes of making it stable enough to get the barrels out.
