I already called my state senator and asked that he vote against this. Looks like most of the sponsors of this bill are still in their first term, and probably last after the voters see this.

Like I said before....its only beginning.....more bills will be introduced by the Dems in the next few months in more states......

One thing for everyone to consider......

Lots of states are throwing in bills now that are very extreme knowing they will not pass and we will see this for some time. What I believe that they are banking on is the fact that after awhile when they propose a bill it will be seen as....Oh just another one of those crazy bills being submitted again....and no one will think anything of it, until it pass's. So my point is dont get complacent no matter how many of these are submitted and shot down either before it ever makes a vote or when it gets voted down. Life goes on, people get busy, peoples guard gets let down. They will flood us with these bills while tension is high and when things have calmed down and the political climate is not focused so much on guns and is on something such as jobs, economy, deficit, forigin affairs, this is when they will try and sneak one of these bills in during the dark of night while no one is looking.

Another forum suggested maybe they are putting in something they know won't pass so they can compromise in the middle.
Whatever the reason we need to find something we can do. The person who introduces a bill they know can't pass is clearly wasting and mis using taxpayer $, there should be something legal we can do to them for that.

I was listening to a Nationally Syndicated Talk Show earlier, and he was talking about the bill in Washington state that included yearly home inspections. I saw it has been pulled, but the case was made that the politicians do stuff like that to get it in the door and on people's minds. 30 years ago, no one would have thought that states would legalize marijuana for recreational use, but it's happened. Maybe 30 years down the road there will be mandatory home inspections for gun owners...

And I agree that something should be done about wasting resources- if I did that at my job, they'd send me to the house. Common sense, but we're talking about DC, and I don't think there's much common sense there...

I agree!!! We all have to pull together to get this AWB knocked down, if it gets passed in one state it's sure to spill over into other states!! We need to Fight For Our 2nd Amendment Rights!

The "firearm and ammunition transaction database" is kinda scary to read. I want a "what did you smoke" database for the sponsors of this bill.

That doesn't stand a snowball's chance of even getting far enough for the senate to vote on it!
Just showboating for some lib constituents to make it look like their elected officials are "doing something."
