Hello all, I set out on a hunt for a 19 blue p&r. Some how I found this nickel first and said, why not. Shined it up when I got home and about the following day I still had the itch for the blue I originally wanted. Here we go, post a want add on the forum the next day and I got a hit. Member RetiredW4 drops this beautiful 1969 blue in front of me like I'm a striper looking at a live bunker on a #8 circle hook. Yep I bit, and happy I did. Now what?

You didn't go wrong buying those two, the addiction has set in. Resistance is futile...

I'm with the other posters a p&r 4" 66 to complete that set. Then go 6" in all 3 finishes or 2 1/2".

Very nice pair of Model 19s! I'm primarily an N-frame guy, but I do really like my 1973 Texas Ranger Commemorative 4" Model 19-3. As you can tell, it's not a safe queen it's a shooter! Model 19s are beautifully made with outstanding fit and finish. My TR fits me perfectly and is very accurate. Where do you go from here? Hmmmm, I do like the 4" bbl, but then again my nickel 2-1/2" 19-4 is sweet! And as others have said, there are blued 6", and the various Model 66s. Good hunting. Enjoy!

Ya, I'm actually going to look at a 66 no dash 4" down the street when they open. I like the n frames myself. My taste for those are the early models in great condition which as you know can be double triple the price of a k in same condition. Had a 19 4" blue years ago I sold off. Wanted one back and ended up with 2. Might as well throw a 66 into it and end this. Lol. I am starting a craving for a 2-1/2" with some Tyler's. It never ends.

The M19s are really beautiful guns.

I prefer N-Frames for shooting magnums, but for handiness and "all-day-carry-a-bility" you can see why K-Frames were/are so popular, especially with LEOs.

Either one (2-1/2" OR 4") would be an excellent completion for that model. I once had a second-year 4" M66 and kept it over 20 years before stupidly selling it. I found a 2-1/2" M66-1 a few years ago to replace it and have really enjoyed the compactness of a round-butt snubby with a mule's kick.

Great looking revolvers! I'd say shoot and keep clean. More than any of my other S&W revolvers, I try to keep the 19s as clean as I can and I spare them the full-charge magnums, except for special occasions. And I'd be looking for a nice old-style Pachmayr presentation grip for use when I wanted to actually shoot the full-charge loads.

Good luck with your new revolvers. :)

Beautiful!!
I have a 19-3 blue, a 66-1 and another 19-3 nickel on the way. All 4".
Also in the process of buying a 66-1 6".
I guess I need the other two 19-3 6" in blue and nickel to finish the set.
