I found these at an estate sale last Fri. First time I've ever seen any of these.

There's nothing there that I didn't buy new. Of course, I've also got guns that I bought new that are now C&R.

Me too! By that I mean I'm a C&R . . . .

I like seeing old 22 ammo for sentimental reasons. The photos conjure up memories of my childhood. (The original childhood, not the one I'm living now!) In my mind's nose, I can still smell the old Remington Kleenbore 22 ammo. Nothing modern smells quite like it.

Thank for the memories!

Shoot em. Bet they will still function. love those old boxes myself especially the Winchester 22 magnum yellow box. Those Remington 22s I recall from the 60s and the price was often around a buck for 50 rounds.

Last summer my son and I shot up my last box of Remington Kleanbore solids from the Army marked 1943. After 80 years it still shot a lot better than we did.

I, too, get sentimental when I see these old boxes. Several years ago I was at my parents’ home and discovered an old box of Remington .22LR with a $0.39 price tag from JC Penney.

I had about $50 worth of fun shooting it. It was just like being a kid again.

I have collected rimfire boxes for yours Collectors want pristine boxes for the most part. Anymore if I get a box that I do not have in my collection, I keep it. If I have it and the box is a bit roached it gets shot. Have two rooms full of that sort of stuff..........can only keep so much.

I had a fairly extensive vintage ammo collection but about 3 years ago I decided to just shoot it. I had them on display for many years and while I will save the nice boxes I get a thrill shooting ammo as old as I am or older - lol

I never actually bought a box with money. I inherited it, traded reloads for it or swapped new ammo to guys that were just going to shoot it anyway. Vintage ammo always looks like a great investment UNTIL you go to sell it - no one wants to pony up! Might as well just enjoy shooting it.

How true. There is only a limited market for collectible old ammunition, and then only if in top condition. Finding buyers can be difficult. I have a lot, but I don't know how I would sell it if I needed to. Not long ago, perhaps the largest collection of ammunition on earth came up for sale, and much of it found no takers. The hope was to keep the collection together, but that did not happen.

Don’t give another thought about if that ammo is still good. This is oxymoron of the old saying “no good deed goes unpunished”.

I've found some of the older stuff has issues with auto loaders. Mechanically operated actions, no issues.

If you want to invest some time to make a few dollars on the nicer stuff that you have these folks seem to do well. Ward's Auctions | Welcome

Been watching their auctions for years.
