Yesterday I paid for a old M&P 4 change 4 inch barrel with a butt swivel(lanyard loop). Overall
condition was good. What peaked my interest was the butt swivel and the serial number being offset to the back of the square butt to accomadate the swivel leading me to believe that this was done at the factory. All numbers
on the barrel, cylinder and frame match 7573xx.The number on the butt was at one time filled with white paint. Any ideas? Frank Jr.

Frank, sound nice!

Is it a .38 special or .38 S&W ?

Post some pics if you can. Just wondered if it has any other markings on it? Sounds like it could be a pre-Victory model.

Thanks guys and revolver is in .38 Special with a bright blue finish. A large S&W insignia on the right side plate. No proof marks at all. I have two Victory models already and this looks twice as good as both. 5 screw of course and with large magna grips with a flat bottom. Frank Jr.
