Yes that was a real add back in the early 1900's.

I remember seeing that ad before. IJ was ahead of the times when it introduced the "Hammer the Hammer" safety. I think that was the meaning of "Accidental discharge impossible."

Just consider the hornet's nest that would start up nowadays if a company put out an add like that for a firearm. Back then , I guess it made it's point on safety. I like old stuff too.
