My wife and I were eating at the Golden Corral today as we usually do about twice a week. The saying around here is that if the place were bombed during the Senior Special time you would loose half of the WW11,
Korean War and older Vietnam Vets in the area.
I had on a new cap with a big NAVY on it(compliments of the DAV for a donation) and as I passed his table, this elderly black man with whom I had several times talked , said " I'll bet the ships in your Navy all had sails". The best that I could do was to tell him he wasn't too far from right.
I have had a lot of old age zingers, all given and taken as this one was, in fun. This was probably the best of the lot.

ROTFLMAO!!!!------rolling on the floor laughing my (tail) off :-)

I was in the 101st in Vietnam..

My brother gave me a 101st Screaming Eagles hat and I was wearing one time when I dropped someone off at the airport at Bilings MT.

When I stopped at the gate to pay for parking the older lady taking the money sees my hat and ask if I knew her bother. I says I don't know, when was he there, adding I was with the 2'502 Inf '67-68.

She says she didn't know what unit or when, but he did jump at Normady.............

I didn't have any zingers.............fact is I couldn't think of a reply..........We were half way to Sheridan before my wife stopped laughing.

I admiringly tell some of the older sailors I know that "their" Navy must have been a lot tougher than my experience, what with having to learn where all the ropes went & such... :D

I'm getting old so I thought I would look up my family tree. I found out I was the sap! I went to a health fair and met the surgeon general. I thought he might give me some pointers on aging. He offered me a cigarette. :o

When I was a kid stones were soft and the Rocky Mountains shook like Jello. From my son, "Dad you were Loadmaster on the Ark right?"
