I got an email from Palmetto Sports Authority on Tuesday morning. One of the Special's was for bulk .22 ammo. It was for Federal Black Pack 4400 rounds and cost $149.99 and included free shipping! I may have been living in a hole lately, but I have not seen .22 ammo prices that good since the "good old days". That is a little less than 3.5 cents per round.

I could not pass that deal up. I placed my order on Tuesday and it was delivered today, two days later. I don't know what the shipping cost would have been, but for a 33 pound package of bullets, it would probably be pretty expensive. Is this price the new normal or did I get a good deal?

I would absolutely not call it “the new normal.” It is the current moment normal. As we approach November, I expect the prices to creep up and then stock may dwindle and then prices will ROCKET up.

I bought a slew of Black Pack a year+ ago and in my experience, this stuff is better than econo-bulk rimfire. It has been some folks guess that it was over run and re-packaged CCI Mini-Mag. I’m not sure if that is the case but I think it’s pretty good ammo.

Midway USA has thunderbolts for.03 and free ship over $49.00 if anyone is interested. My Grandboys came before Christmas and burned some up in their Shopkeepers............

At Academy, back on Black Friday 2018, they had a great sale on Federal Black Pack at a little less than 0.03/round after rebate and tax. I bought two cases just for rainy day storage, haven't fired any of it yet. Haven't seen any of it since. Came in 50 round white boxes:
