Old Family item, please ID

This looks like a Single Action Model 1 1/2 centerfire, most likely in .32 S&W. Manuf. date is around 1880 and with a box this is a valuable gun in the condition pictured here. If you intend to sell it, let me know. I have one but mine came in a wooden box..

If the wooden box is a factory box; the box alone is probably worth more than the revolver. The wood boxes are rather scarce if original.

. . . The abrasion mentioned is only on the line edge of two surfaces. This has sat safely from use, moisture, and abuse for over 140 + or- years. I want a good price and safe place for this item. please make suggestions. The barrel and cylinders are clean, sharp, fresh looking.

Are you stating that the finish is as bright and shiny as Peter's? You do not have factory stocks, you have nickel loss, I still see a dull nickel finish after looking at all you pictures again, and you have the strain screw version which is very common.

Of course you want a good price for your spur trigger. If you want to sell it, you could send it off to an online auction house, but will pay a high seller's premium with no guarantee of a high price realized. It is an antique, so you can sell it on a gun auction site like Gunbroker without needing an FFL involved. It is really quite easy to sell on that website, but if that is something you do not want to do, your options are limited. You can advertise it on this Forum, or try to sell it at a gunshow, but that is about all your options.

I will stick with my original estimate that it is worth $300+/-. There are several on GB completed auctions that sold for under that price and I could find none that sold for anything higher.

BETTER photos

I think I was too close so blurry surface. Suggestion made nickel was falling off. This pistol has been kept in dresser drawers in clean cotton since before I was born and my Dad never shot it! Check these photos and suggest a fair asking price. My sons don't appreciate guns and I am almost out of here!

Nuts, only allowed 5 ..I have more if you want them.

I just sold one in the 32xxx range, 70% original nickel, original grips numbered to the gun, for $300. ($375 technically, if you include the box of original ammo I included.)

Hope that helps with your price range.
