This is a great idea, and I should have thought of it, because I did something similar when I had my cataract surgery last year. Just buy a cheap set of reader clip-ons from your local drug store, and remove the lens from the non-dominant eye side. Same basic principal for under $20.![]()
It's worth a shot, Rodan. I tried that approach, but found for my vision the weakest clip-ons at 1.5 diopter were too strong. I could focus at reading distance, but not out there just beyond the front sight. I found the 0.75 diopter clip-ons from ShootingSight were perfect.
I'm sure I created a puzzlement at Walgreens. Some guy trying on readers, sticking his arm out and trying to focus on his thumb. Not your average customer. But it told me what I needed to know; and saved me $5.95.
