We love nostalgia here, like old Smiths. Post any old, cool, pics here. Here are some of the Duke for starters.

Wonder why that first picture says Davey? The movie is the Fighting Kentuckian, and Duke's name is John and alwaysOLLIE'S (I see otto korrik stuck his fine italian hand in there. "always". geezus) name is Willie. There ain't no Davey in that picture.

There was no info on the pic. I figured it was on the set of The Alamo. Davey Crocket. Woops.

A blonde Elvis, with a 50-70 Trapdoor. :)

Couple of favorites

Gail Patrick, from Alabama, won a Paramount beauty contest and got a contract as the prize. She's the foil in my favorite movie, "My Man Godfrey." She went on to produce the Perry Mason series. A sometimes unappreciated beauty.

Rosalind Russell was such an excellent actress and "His Girl Friday" is a favorite of ours as is "The Women."

Patricia Neal, wow. Maggie kicking her shoes off in the scene with John Wayne "In Harms Way" is the sexiest scene in Hollywood history. Any woman who resists the charms of Paul Newman...

And my favorite all-time actor, William Powell. He's Godfrey in my favorite movie of all time and then, of course, Nick Charles in the "Thin Man" series of movies and Philo Vance before that, and many more right up to "Mr. Roberts" as Doc.

Snidly, I think your are just bragging with the last pair of photos.

My wife never got to meet my Great Uncle Rufus, I showed her the above picture of William Powell and told he looks like this guy, only rufus was a few inches shorter.

The autographed John Wayne photo with the dog, I have one of those hanging in the Man Cave, you can't make out who they are to, but you can always make out John Wayne! That may have to do to what time in the afternoon it is!

We visited with Pilar Wayne (thru family friends) at her Newport home many times after the Duke passed. She was a very sweet and accommodating lady that I really enjoyed talking with. The memorabilia, pictures of the Duke and family, Ford etc was, for a die hard John Wayne fan, beyond belief. There was a side table behind the main sofa and on that table was a small bronze of Wayne on a rearing stallion. Yeah...he was the best.

My dad owned a newspaper back in the late '50s through the mid-'60s outside of DC. Besides DC there was a music fair theater in the round only a couple of miles from our home. Due to being in the newspaper game he was often invited to many dinners with celebrities and politicians...I have all his autographed photos given him...Sinatra...George Burns...Ronald Reagan...Eddie Cantor...a lot. Not that I met any of them...just a kid at the time.

He said many were among the nicest and most genuine people you would ever want to know...some were just the opposite regardless of their public image.

When I became a federal LEO in DC I dealt with some celebrities and politicians as well...some were great...some not...just as my dad experienced.
