Old man/old cat

I've had cats & dogs for the past 40 years. The latest 2 cats were local rescues, both males who became "bonded" while fostered. Kevin, the brown Scottish Fold is the most affectionate and the most chill dude around. Bronco the tan & white one is younger and like a live wire in a puddle of water. Bronco absolutely will not tolerate being picked up & held. Its taken me 4 months to get him to jump up on my lap. Seems like most of the time he is in constant motion, but when he crashes, he is out like a light. Kevin can't go anywhere without Bronco chasing him down to be along side.

Would love to have a dog again but not sure how these 2 would adjust to another strange animal in the house. They apparently came from hard lives before they were rescued. They've got it made now.

This is a wish we all fervently have for our pets!

AJ

I do agree. They will be missed, but we both hope that the pets go first. We the people will go on and most likely give our home and family to a new pet, but it is probably worse when the person who belonged to a cat or dog passes first because that person was probably the world to the dog or cat so you see read and see the pictures of pets that are heartbroken which is sad beyond all.

One of the factors I use to assess the character of people is their affinity for or dislike of cats. It's usually correct. The best personal example was our ex-daughter in law. She hated cats (dogs too), and from that (and other indications) we knew the marriage to our son couldn't last long. And it didn't.

Got this guy 18 yrs ago...just a kitten then.
