Bob Baer made this little thumper out of a stainless super blackhawk in .44 mag.

The ultimate backup gun for pig hunting and a might fine little belly gun with .44 specials. I found this in a gun shop near Houston. Actually met the man while I was there. He explained how he made it and why he made it. John Taffin was kind enough to send me some pictures of him with Bob. Mr. Baer was a huge part of the old crew of custom gunsmiths back in the day.

Thought you might enjoy the pictures...

Very nice, indeed. Bob Baer was the subject of many articles back in the day. John Taffin probably wrote most of them. I haven't corresponded with John lately; I need to do that.

What holster will that pretty baby go in?

A simply Rugged Pancake for now. I am looking for a local holster guy to make me a BBQ-worthy style belt holster for it.

Kill it and grill it all in one shot :)

It does have a flash to it, but I am about as immune to recoil as a person can be. I fire full-bore .357 out of my 340PD.
