A beat up re-imported Model 10-10 that I use for shooting blackpowder .38 Specials, purely a fun shooter or a "beat around" gun. This thing had a million rounds on it when I got it for the grand total of $220, but it still has life left in it. It's on it's 2nd cylinder, I dropped in another one in better condition as kind of a hillbilly tune-up to tighten it up a little bit.
Below the 10-10 is a Beater security trade in Ruger Service Six in .38 Special, shoots great, looks like it was kicked down a flight of concrete stairs every day and carried in a sandpaper holster.
PD trade in .357 Service Six, has a rare barrel type but was a rust bucket. I cleaned it up and it will never be "collectible" and it's last chance at being a safe queen ended back in the 70's when the first cop to carry it stuck it in a leather holster, and judging by the rust, never took it out until it was sold! Shoots well enough, it was the lost, dirty puppy that followed me home one day and I grew to love it, and it turned into a very nice shooter.
A 6" Model 10-5 that I got for $300 or so, the past owner left no internal part unfiled, it was a mess. The sideplate is so loose from being pried off so many times by same ham handed past owner, when I remove the 3 screws it just flops off by itself. After a lot of work, it has evolved into a real tack driver. I even added a period Flaig Ace trigger shoe and dropped in a semi-target hammer. It's a "franken-smith" but it's tight and it shoots great.
