Go to eBay - you'll find hundreds of K-frame grips, but it's not too likely you will find any of the original type. You need grips made for a round butt K-frame S&W. 104xxx is an oldie indeed. Likely from ca. mid-1907. A collector would call it the ".38 Hand Ejector, Model of 1902, Second Change." If you shoot it, use only standard velocity lead bullet loads.

For an early round-butt it is more likely it had Hard Rubber stocks, not wood. These are a very good reproduction of the correct stocks: Gun Grip - Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action Grips Yes, they are for the .44 Double-Action, but the early K-Frame stocks are identical! Don't forget to order stock screw and escutcheon set too!

It's correct that most of these revolvers originally shipped with black hard rubber grips as shown, and originals occasionally show up on eBay. And there are replicas available from several sources. But if all you want is something to make it shootable, you can go with any pair of cheaper round-butt K-frame grips listed on eBay or one of the gun auction sites. Be aware you may have to do a little hand-fitting, but that's fairly simple to do.

Personally I would urge caution about buying from Gun Grips. I placed an order close to 3 weeks ago and have nothing. They say they ship same day, the only thing they did same day is charge my CC. A small Priority Mail box would have had it here in 2 to 3 days. Have not replied to my email. I guess a call to my CC is next.
Welcome to the Forum. If you want a vintage correct look, check out Vintage Gun Grips or as noted above, but be aware you will spend around $45 for a set of reproduction stocks. If you are not particular about original looking stocks, I would look for some K frame round butt stocks on eBay. There are lots of laminated wood target stocks out there and many used stocks as well for sale.

Contrary to jag22's experience I have been dealing with N.C. Ordnance for more than 20 years. I have always received accurate and prompt from each of the 20 or so orders I have placed with them! Quality is far better than what I have seen from Vintage, which I gave up on long ago.

Some years ago, I bought a pair of replica grips for a Browning Model 1900 pistol from NC Ordnance. While the quality wasn't terrible, they didn't come anywhere close to fitting my pistol so I returned them. No problem about that, and I did get my refund without undue hassle. I have bought nothing from them since, so they may be better now.
