Does anyone know if an old style cylinder release will work on newer revolvers?

Ok, are they available for purchase? If so do you know where?

Numrich Arms, Jack First, Bob's Gun Parts, Brownell's, Cylinder and Slide, some more that don't come to mind (Google is your friend) and the best IMHO, is ebay. Go to 'Home page', Sporting Goods, Hunting and then 'Gun Parts'. Home in on what you want. Compare pictures as closely as you can with what you want to replace. Try searches using various names for your part as those vendors don't always know or use the correct name for the part they have up for sale. ............

I have one for my 642-1. I got it from Numrich. It works fine. I keep going back and forth between the old style and new style latch. The old style latch seems to work better for releasing the cylinder but the new style seems less likely to abrade my thumb joint when shooting.

Welcome to the Forum Dwheel, alot of great people and information on this site.

I was curious to find out if the old style would cover the hole in the side of my 625pc.
