The cylinder stop on my 5 screw I frame hand ejector is excessively worn.
The original configuration has about 1/2" long compression spring behind the screw on the front of the trigger guard, which in turn has a small plunger that slides partly in the spring on one end. The other end pushes on the back of the cylinder stop giving it the necessary pressure to interact with the back of the trigger.
Available replacements (J Frame) are dimensionally correct, but have a recess in the back of the stop that makes the spring assembly too short to function. Schematics for I Frame or J Frame don't show this level of detail. I have tried ordering springs for both, they are the same. None of the schematics show the plunger/rod.
Has anyone worked through this issue? Do you know where the original style bolt stop is available? Or, Do you know what I am missing to utilize the newer style part?
Thank you for the assist.
