Older model 36

They will, but the recoil is increased and recovery between shots is slower. There is little advantage to using +P ammunition in one of these.

I don't find +p to be difficult to shoot. Most ammunition available is in a lower weight than more traditional offerings. The recoil is a little sharper but manageable...especially in a 20 oz revolver.

My feeling is that +P .38 Special ammunition has little purpose other than a possible confidence builder. The target probably won't know the difference. And certainly no advantage at all for casual/target shooting. Ballistically, it doesn't provide very much of an edge over standard ammunition.

I have never understood the big desire to shoot +P.

Does the hole in the paper target have sharper edges with +P or does the bad guy fall down faster?

Have never shot any +p in anything , with the hype on the 642 being able to shoot it just wondered if my ol 36 could handle it.
My edc is a 45acp anyway..................
