LARA, Peter Richard, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his residence at the age of 80. Mr. Lara was born in Chacalapa, Mexico, to the late Augustin Lara and Marie Rodriguez. During his life, Mr. Lara worked as an administrator for the Social Security Administration and was also an accomplished woodworker. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lara was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lara, and two sisters, Linda Ramirez and Grace Alvarez. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Lara, Tullahoma; one daughter, Cindy Schaefer and husband Dan, Milan, Tenn.; one son, Rick Lara, Roswell, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Marissa Lucret, Roswell, Ga.; one granddaughter, Jessica Schaefer, and two grandsons, Daniel Schaefer II and Michael Schaefer, all of Milan, Tenn.; and one sister-in-law, Rose Resendez, Naperville, Ill. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Father Stephen Klasek officiating. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Kilgore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
