? on early 50.s Pre 27

You are looking at one of the earliest post war production .357 Magnums. There were a very few post war .357 Magnums made from primarily from pre war parts. The regular production model of 1950 .357s began around serial 75000. Whether its worth $1350 or not is kinda up to you. However, if I was looking at it, I would consider that new ones list for more than that, have the lock in the side and are considered as good a revolver as the post war production guns. At least you have a choice. :-)

I have no interest in one of the new ones, can't affordn the realy high end collector grade guns,so i kind of stay in the middle. My thought is if i had to sell it ,i could at least get what i paid for it. PS Got it down to $1240....

This is what early 1950's Pre 27 Target stocks would look like. These are from 9/53 and letter as correct.

Looked at the gun again, pulled the grips, found a 1-51, and a 12-55 with a star. The12-55 makes sense, but i don't get the 1-51, seeing that the gun was mfd in 51 (ser#799xx).I'm not totaly convinced that it hasn't been reblued, nothing looks overpolished or anything, the blue just seems too black.

One of those dates may have been the installation of the gold bead front sight. If reblued, the price is way too high.
