Serial # N77xx1 3 (note there is a space between the 1 & 3) Number taken from the yoke cut.

Pin Barrel

Wood Handles

Adjustable rear sight

6" barrel

Hammer firing pin

What can you tell me about this?

EDIT: Corrected the serial number.

Is there an "N" in front of the serial number?

For the 629s serial numbers that are N7XXXXX are from 1980which would be the second year of production of the gun.

The first serial of Standard Production is N748564, in May of 1980, so yours came shortly after that.

Yours should have a .500" target trigger and a .500" target hammer.

I can tell you that the number you posted is the "Assembly Number" not the serial number! SNs do not have spaces in the numbers.

Depending on when the gun was made the SN will be either A nnnnnn, The letter N followed by up to six digits, or AAA nnnn Three letters and four digits. If a number like this doesn't appear in the yoke cut, seen with the cylinder swung out, then take the stocks off. The SN will be on the butt.

My bad, I left the 'N' off. Thank you.

Any idea why the space between the 1 & 3?

Serial numbers inside the crane sometimes look a little grammatically incorrect, or tough to read. If you take the grios off, the serial number is on the bottom of the butt, and is much clearer and easier to read.
