Wow! The bluing process doesn't affect the gold at all?

Do you have to cover the Gold in any way before blueing?

My guess would be that since blueing is rust, and gold doesn't rust...

Fascinating process inlaying the gold. I'm a cheap bastich & would probably cry my eyes out sanding away gold. Is the gold dust recovered?

The Blueing process does not affect precious metals. & Thank you

Ditto this. Thanks very much for sharing. Barring a MegaMillions win it's highly unlikely I'll ever own such a piece but having a look at the process is very cool.
