OK, I didn't mean Bi... but Ambi. :D

Don't bail on me if you shoot righty, as this applies to you too. In my case, I am right handed but have to shoot left handed because of my crazy eyes. From what I understand, I am not alone. For all my life, I have made do with everything set up for a righty... but no more.

So this week I ordered a Norgon Ambi-Catch magazine release and the BAD *** (Battle Arms Development Ambidextrous Safety Selector) from Simple Weapon Solutions. The Norgon is really only useful for those shooting left handed and it is just perfect. It is low profile, so as not to snag, and is placed further back than others I have seen, which makes it real easy for me to engage with my trigger finger. Also installed the ambi safety... and that thing is incredible.

The BAD *** (have to use $ otherwise the site blocks out the word) is something I think every shooter should use... no matter if you shoot left or right. The levers are just incredible & so easy to change out. You have a large selection of levers to choose from and once you get them if you want to switch them to another type... no big deal. I chose the hybrid for my trigger finger side (left for me) and the crank for my thumb side. I highly suggest everyone use the hybrid for your trigger finger side as it mostly sits flush up against the receiver, staying out of the way of your trigger finger when on fire. I personally love the crank on the thumb side, as it is plenty long for me to actuate easily with my thumb... so much so that I use that as my primary lever. That surprised me, as I thought I would be using the lever on my trigger finger side. Don't get me wrong, I still can & will use that one but boy that crank is sure easy to use with your thumb... something I could never do with the stock safety.

So point is folks, give this safety a try. For the money, I can't think of any better add on for the AR... no matter which way you shoot.

My left side (my trigger finger side). This is the hybrid lever & note the Norgon mag release.

They also have a lever program. If for some reason you want different levers just email them and they will send you different ones. Once you received the new ones just send back your old ones. Great group to deal with.

I use the Norgon and BAD *** on all my non-clone rifles and 15-22s.

I too use both the BAD safety and Norgon mag release on both my 15-22 and several full size brothers. Great and useful stuff!!

Would buy more if necessary!

I'm curious how many right handed shooters ignore this great product simply because it is labeled as being ambi? I wonder if they realize this item helps all shooters? Yes, some ambi product, like the Norgon, really only helps the lefty, but this product enhances the safety's function and useability for all.

Where can i get the anti-trigger walk screws and pins? i know they have available the fancy ones with the connecting bar but i just want the screws and pins like yours.....

So are you guys that have responded right handed or left? Are right handed folks using this product also?

I'm a lefty. Never bothered to change anything out. I just don't use the safeties. I treat all my rifles like Glocks. Loaded with finger off the trigger.

I phrased my question wrong. Should have asked which way do you shoot. Seems to be quite a few of us that shoot with the off hand. If I remember correctly, the Major is a lefty but shoots right.

I too treat every gun like it is loaded, 100% of the time, but I still take advantage of every safety feature possible.

After shooting, I remove the magazine, rack the bolt several times to visually confirm no round in the chamber and flip the safety on. When shooting with others, these steps are verbalized for every shooter. Even then the gun is treated as loaded and if anyone violates any of the above steps, there is a discussion.

At the range the safety location is irrelevant to me. I can drop the mag and flip the safety with any hand. I don't have "others" I shoot with. I have one other friend who's into guns and if we are both at the range he has his own table/lane and I have my. Or we just take turns. And again it's the range so the safety location doesn't bother me. If I'm doing tactical classes I don't use it.

Since I don't shoot at a range, I'm curious. A range allows folks to not safe their guns? I always assumed they had rules designed to keep all safe & assumed they required guns to be safed.

Go figure. I shoot out in the country & have more stringent rules than a public range.

U misunderstood. The range is a casual place. I don't need to be able to flick the safety while still maintaining a cheek weld and sight picture. I simply stop shooting, drop the mag and flick the safety. It doesn't matter if it's on the left side or the right or upside down or inverted or on the bottom. Drop mag, switch hands, engage safety.

And no not all ranges have that rule. Only one range here that I know of has range officers. Everything else is just cctv. You rent a booth, you stay in it, you shoot. And what happens if you bring a Glock or any other firearm without a safety? Can you not shoot it?

Danged if I know. Like I said, I don't shoot at a range... I shoot in the country.
