The biggest one hit wonder I can think of from my lifetime is Don McLean and American Pie. Huge hit when I was a young man in 1972(IIRC) and other than the song Vincent about Vincent Van Gogh I don't think he had much if anything else.

Poco. In The Heart of the Night. Even if it just plays for the two of us here sharing a dance Wendy admits she loves the beauty of it. She claims that being around me exposes her to music that may have been popular during my time that is great and got lost before she got old enough to appreciate it.

Previously mentioned, "The Wayward Wind" was a big hit by Gogi Grant in 1956, and also covered by numerous other singers. Gogi made a career of only that song. I think she sang it on the geriatric circuit until she died. At about the same time "Tonight You Belong to Me" was another hit, by Patience and Prudence. I'd call "Morning Girl" a one hit wonder by the Neon Philharmonic (Tupper Saussy) and also covered by several others, The Lettermen and also Shaun Cassidy. Saussy was a strange dude.
