One More Lock Thread...With a Twist!

I would be willing to bet that they are VERY aware of how unpopular the IL is

I know an S&W engineer and he says that S&W is well aware of the dislike for the lock, however, as we all know, they haven't discontinued it.

Still doesn't worry me, I only have two S&Ws both .500 Mags, one with the lock disabled one original. None of the 4 Model 500s I've had has ever had any kind of functional problem whatsoever. Don

Thats exactly what happen to my M66-6 when I first got it.
I took the flag/lock out and have had no problems with it since.
the Ironic part is that it is the weakest part of the whole lock system.
its also the easyest part to take out and not effect the rest of the gun.
kind of almost makes you think they made it that way so people could disable then, No I don't think they would actually do that, but it sure sounds nice.

S&W is a MA based company - the lock is all about Massachusetts -;)

hamhead,

Could you back this statement up please? A link or something? Thanks.
Cat

A link what link, S&W is located in Springfield, MA in order for them to sell their weapons in MA they have to have locks, no lock, not MA compliant -

my opinion, no link, - links, what links, sausage links...? :D

Ruger revolvers have storage locks conveniently located under the grip panels. At least the single actions do. I'm not sure about the new LCRR (Lightweight Compact Rattle Revolver).

All Ruger revolvers sold in MA have locks - what exactly is your POINT...???
