A while back I was asking the Forum folks about this Speed Six. At the time the store had it for $850; kinda high, plus the trigger and hammer had the diamond bling. Someone actually did a nice job on that, and the action is smooth. Best I could do was $800 total, only because the action was so nice. I substituted the rubber with the inserts and bought the wood, which I haven't done anything to yet. I'll try to get it to work with the 1791 leather. I'm going to leave the bling alone on the trigger and hammer, as the best I could do would make it worse unless I buy new…not going to happen. The serial # 160-40133 puts it at 1984 (corrections welcome.) 2 3/4" barrel was good enough for me and Keegan at 25 yards in the torso in .357 and .38 spl, so that's good enough for me/us. That show off shoots free hand! I let him shoot any hand gun I have that he wants, he's weeks away from 17; he'll be good,I'm sure. Hell, he already is!
I know 8 bills was high, but I think I did okay. Suggestions on the wood are more than welcome.

That was upper end of the Speed market, but those have a following and never go cheap. I have one, like it a lot. Don't recognize the grips, they look nice. Grips for these are getting hard to find. I don't believe Ruger has parts for these anymore, tho it's unlikely you'll ever need any.
