Conway Twitty owned a niteclub, bar, juke joint on Moon Lake, Miss., I vaguely recall a wild drunken, brawling three day orgy there in 1964. Wish I had a better memory of events. Three young sailors turned loose among hundreds of young southern gals, booze flowing and country music rocking the place. Aught to be ashamed.

Yeah, they don't make them the way they used to.

"that's a fact jack" as uncle Silas would say

who today ( with the exception of Mr. Strait ) can command an audience with just their voices and melody's, Loretta and Conway were great, but my all time favorite was the great Marty Robbins, I grew up listening to his music, watching him as a cowboy and even watching him race on Saturday night before his

Marty Robbins was the greatest. I have all his songs on CD and play them on a regular basis. Country music like rock has gone downhill, the oldies were the best.

A friend of mine stopped Loretta's tour bus once, and she came out begging him not to write her driver. Said she was just tiny, and real nice.

I'm kind of partial to "Murder on Music Row", myself. Hip-hop with a steel guitar isn't country to me. I guess I'm old school - most of the artists portrayed on "Cadillac Records" are familiar to me, and among some of the music I have on my YouTube playlists for training on the exercise bike.

The way some of you were writing about Loretta Lynn sounded like she had passed away. Her husband did, but she's still with us.

When I was young, I listened to country music, and many of my favorite artists from that time aren't with us anymore. I don't listen to "new country" because it sounds like pop music. These days, I listen to classic rock on occasion, because it was what I listened to in the 60s and 70s...only it wasn't "classic" then.

Get with the 2010s, y'all are livin 50 yrs ago. Stuck in a rut, like a good friend that has a million dollars in assets that he wont part with. He lives check to check, barely having enough to pay his bills. He is his own jailer.
