One Smith Revolver Turned Into Three Pretty Fast

Purchased my first gun in April, a model 67 .38 Special revolver with a 4 inch barrel. Did a lot of research and question asking on this forum, and it seemed like a great first gun for home defense. And it is.

But, of couse I couldn't stop there. Picked up the 642 no lock in early November and the model 63 3" in .22lr yesterday. The 642 because I plan to get my CCW and the 63 for me to plink with, and my girlfriend to learn on at the gun club we just joined.

Damn, one gun turned into 3 pretty darn fast. Plus, I already have my eye on a model 60 3" .357 magnum revolver and a M&P 9C pistol for next year.

As I have heard many say, there is no such thing as just one. And they were right.

Bud, I know the feeling!! I got a 1905 4th. change from my dad 2 years ago. (shipped from Smith 6-1919) In Feb. of this year, I got a 67 no dash. A few months ago, I got a 10-8 Aussie Police gun from Bud's. A week ago, I received my 65-3-3" that was won on Gunbroker. Took my wife to the range, and I got her to shoot the 65, what a mistake! Her favorite now! What's next? Who knows. Bob

Nice Smiths. You are on the track that others have traveled. You have the "bug"! There is no cure. All you can do is satisfy the "need". If possible, stay away from the other Smith frames. Right now the "bug" is controlable. Once you get the L and N frame "bug" you can no longer control youself. Good luck. I hope you do not have any other outside interests. I know how you feel. I started with a K22 Masterpiece because I needed something to plink with. Then I spotted a square butt 1959 Model 36. Lo and behold I found a round butt 36 no-dash for $250 that needed some TLC. Then I decided I was in love with the 3913 Ladysmith. Not wanting to snag the hammer of the 36's while pocket carrying I bought a new no-lock 442. Since I had J frames with hammers and J frames without it would be obvious that I need the model half-way between the 2 so I ended up with a 649 .357. I'm so confused - they keep popping up faster than I can shoot them!

Model 19 in any barrel length is especially addictive. They seem to be multiplying on their own.

It's not your fault. I put one in the safe and then I can hear it complain about not having any friends in there that it has anything in common with. Just to shut it up I have to get another one that likes the same movies and listens to the same music as the first one. Same goes for reloading stuff. The Unique is always complaining that it doesn't want to play with the Win 231 because it's too fast and the Unique can't keep up. Federal 210 primers and CCI BR4's can't even be in the same place unless you want to see an episode of Jerry Springer in your reloading room. Don't get me started on how I have to keep distance between the bi-pods and the bench rest equipment.

All hope is lost. When I joined this forum (not all that long ago) I had 1 S&W semi auto and 1 S&W revolver, now I'm up in the 20's and still have more on my wish list...

My real weakness is the 27, started with 6", then 8 3/8", then 4". Still need 6.5", 5" and 3 1/2". I can resist online, but when I find one local and actually see it and hold it....................
