I have a Silencerco Spectre II, which has been a great suppressor. Ever since I got it, I've been kicking around the idea of buying another cheaper dedicated .22 suppressor so when friends and family go plink with me, we can escape using hearing protection. But that meant another suppressor, another tax stamp, another gun to put it on... so I've been putting it off.
Sometimes, you get pushed into doing things anyway. My girlfriend's Christmas list included electronic earmuffs so she could hear without taking muffs on and off while we were out shooting. I figure I can't put it off any longer, and went and plunked down the money needed to get the ball rolling.
I went with a YHM Stinger and put a S&W Victory on layaway. There was no specific reason I went with the YHM, other than it was on sale cheap, in stock, and was user serviceable. I went with the Victory because I haven't been all that happy with my MK IV, and there are too many rails (one) on the Browning Buckmark. It's an unknown combo to me.
And now the wait begins, hopefully I'll have it before summer ends. It'll be interesting to compare the YHM to the Silencerco, but the real reward will be plinking with her or others without the need to saying "huh?" all the time. On the other hand, I have a concern that I'm going to be doubling up on a lot of suppressors if this goes well...
