I stopped in to a shop I had never seen before this morning on my way to the office and spied something blue.... In one of the cases was a blue box with a LNIB 2004 9mm SW99c. I picked it up and instantly loved the trigger. I have never held one before and knew nothing about them but I knew I was taking it home. Time to haggle.... "What will you take for this?" "Well, my dads the owner and he isn't here. Let me ask mom. " The mom came over and said, "I think he wants $275 cash but if you wait for him to get back he may go lower." I didn't even hand it back to her... I just blurted out "I'll take it". We did the paperwork and I high-tailed it out of there before "daddy" got back. Who knows, it may have been worth waiting but I highly doubt it.

I swear this thing hasn't been fired. It came in the blue case with the fired casing, two mags, oil-paper all of the warranty books and manuals, OEM lock and a bunch of different front sights.

I haven't got to go shoot it yet but have stripped it down and lubed her up. Can't wait to shoot it. I hope I didn't just buy the plague gun that everybody hates and I just never got the memo.

The pictures were taken with my Blackberry so excuse the horrible exposure. The bluing is 100% perfect on the gun, no wear. That's just flash or glare.

What holsters fit it? Will Glock 2nd Gen fit?

Isn't it nice when you stumble on to deals like that? Good luck with it at the range.

I need to take it down tomorrow and see if I can get some of the "drag" our of the trigger at the very end of the pull. Honestly, it just feels new and I could probably shoot it out but I may be able to use the stone a little before hand.

Oh... one more thing. I stopped in to Moss Pawn on my way home tonight and they had one just like it for $589 :D

I was worried that the gritty trigger might be the striker channel but I pulled the slide off and the drag stayed :) that was a relief. I saw that the trigger bar has a metal piece that rides on top of it and that it presses upward against that piece as the trigger moves reward. Thats where the "grinding" was coming from. I polished the top of the trigger bar then applied a light coat of grease. Now the trigger is buttery smooth. The rest of the gun was pretty dry so I lubed like I would my Glocks. Feels much better now and trigger is crisp.

I've never shot one, but that's about the cheapest I've ever seen a S&W go for! Looks like a very nice compact 9 you got there! can't wait to hear how it was at the range :)

Thanks ILOGILNG. I went out to the property and put 100 rounds of mix & match 9mm through her with absolutely no problems. I was very impressed by the smooth operation of the gun. The trigger is amazing in SA. Very short reset and extremely smooth. My accuracy shooting 8" plates at 7, 10, 20, 50 yards was far better than with my G19, G33 or LC9. My Kahr MK9 is a close 2nd though. That gun never ceases to amaze me with its accuracy.

Sounds like you got yourself a VERY good deal :)

A compact or subcompact isn't at the TOP of my list, but is definitely on 'the list' of guns I don't have but will have in time ($$), I'll keep this model in mind when that time comes, maybe rent one at my range

I picked up a well used 908 a couple years back for $220 with three mags and holster.

I'm sure you'll like the SW99c! I was very fond of my P99c, just not fond of .40s&w so that's why I sold it. I did have to pick up an SW99 in .45 to replace it though.
