Oops, Almost sold it this weekend.

So I had this out at a show this weekend and had too many people jumping at the reluctantly displayed piece at (the 10-5) $325. Fortunately, they all wanted to pay on Sunday so I told them the first in would get it and don't you know a dealer was waiting at my table at opening with the cash. Now, the night before, I told my wife about the buyers and she 'fessed up that one of my Christmas presents was a set of ram's horn grips for this and a model 36-1 which she had made from some of our disintegrating skulls that had been molested by the dogs. I was told that there was a serial/date list hereabouts but can't seem to find it. If anyone can help me with the dates of these, the Model 10-5 #'d C943XXX and the 36-1 is J588XXX. It was interesting for me that the more I showed the Smiths - the less I wanted to sell them and now they simply aren't for sale... Call it pre-seller's remorse. They're both just tooo pretty to let go but also too pretty to shoot.

You got lucky in not selling them, LOL.

I'm surprised, not a single person that wanted them had the cash in hand? Whenever I had hopes or a gut feeling of finding a gun at a show I had a minimum of $500 with me... money talks but it more often than not went right back into the bank.

Your model 10-5 looks to be from 1967, and the 36-1 from 1977. Good to read you kept them.

I'm certainly glad they didn't "throw down" at the time but I was waaay in the back of the show and now I'll keep it with the new grips as a fancier open carry piece here in Arizona - sometimes the "honkin" Kin Cobra or 1911 is a bit much.

I have one of those 10-5s that are too pretty also. It seems to have a natural stickyness as I can't seem to let it go.

Thanks for the info Murphdog. I had bought them for my wife when we gave her Dad an old Taurus which she loved to carry. These she felt were too pretty and we ordered up a stainless Taurus that given it's current state, was a good idea. It really turned out well for me that so many folk asked about and wanted to buy the "10". After busting the first fella's bubble on Sunday morning, there were 3 more that hustled up to get it.

You should be glad that I didn't walk by. At $325,it would have been gone quicker than a guppie in a shark tank,as my bud from Maine likes to say.

i couldn't pass up a high quality revolver like that for $325. very glad you kept them.
