Here is my 625 Open gun. Fully Carmonized & Magnaported, with a Leupold DeltPoint red dot on an Allchin mount. I prefer the DeltaPoint over a C-More (although granted it cost almost twice as much). My theory is it sits closer to where the rear iron sight was, and the dot is slightly closer to the bore, so it is easier to acquire after the draw (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

I used to think that way but found I like the C-More's bigger window and replacable dot modules. A 12 min dot is nice for steel and bowling pins. Allchin makes a low mount for a C-More Slide Ride on a S&W revolver.

I had a C-More on the Allchin mount on my 617, I replaced it with a DeltaPoint, which looks a lot better on the smaller gun (better proportioned).

Who makes that scope base for the Delta-Point? Is it steel or aluminum? I like the looks..........a very compact set-up.

Some people might believe you are handicapping yourself with a six shot rather than an 8 shot revolver. However, I believe you can reload much faster with the 45ACP and make up for the 2 round difference per reload.

6 or 8 shot is irrelevant when shooting Open in USPSA with a revo. You're competing with guns that can shoot 31 times without a reload. Big disadvantage.

I shoot the 625 in USPSA just for fun and something different. I have a 26 round open gun and also shoot Limited-10. Shooting steel with the 625 with 5 or 6 targets per string, you do need to take your time and make every shot count.
