I am interested in hearing opinions on converting K/L frame revolvers to 9mm. Pinnacle Gunsmithing is one shop that does this. Do the reworked guns shoot reliably and accurately? Worth considering? Thank you.

There have been a couple of threads on this on the old site. As I recall, most posts seem to indicate the owners are pleased with the results. Likely it is possible to still do a search on the previous site.

After considerable testing, I would not do it again.

Accuracy, I just wasn't satisfied with it. I only shot out to 40' and really couldn't get the grouping I needed. When I loaded .357 rounds in 9mm cases it wasn't bad, but factory wasn't that good.

I had a 637 converted to 9mm by TK Custom. The price was $225 and I received my cylinder back 8 days after I shipped it to Tom. The machining is flawless, and I have had no problems at all with poor extraction, as some of the factory 940s have experienced. Accuracy is about the same as I had shooting .38 Special ammunition. This is my daily carry gun and I am completely satisfied with it.

Can this conversion be done on a 337Ti

I have a model 337 Ti and have thought of having this conversion done on mine as well. I thought that I had read that they would not do one on an aluminum frame gun. Can some one answer my question on this matter?

Thanks much,

T

The problem isn't the alumnimum frame but your titanium cylinder. I understand they can cut it for moonclips but cannot rechamber it. Safearm's 637 has an aluminum frame and he hasn't had any trouble with it.

Mine is a Model 360J with a scandium frame, it was converted by Pinnacle and it is hands down my favorite gun out of all the ones I own. I shoot it as well as or better than my duty gun and a Kahr CW9 that I used to have. Pinnacle also did the action, bobbed the hammer, rounded and polished the trigger, and installed a fiber optic front sight. I had Robar coat the cylinder and I put on a set of CT laser grips. It will shoot 9mm, 9x21, 9mm Largo, 9x23, .38 Super, and .38spl (with moonclips). I've only shot 9mm, .38 Super, and .38spl but I've found it to be accurate and reliable and perfect for my needs as a BUG and EDC gun.

I had my 686 done, and I load 38 bullets in it and it does a great job. Hope I can work out a load to shoot center fire Bullseye with, or at lease try :D. Here is a target that I shoot with it.
