I'm thinking about purchasing a Model 22-4 in the near future, one of the new Classics in 45 ACP. What's been everyone's experience with these? Are they fairly accurate from the box? What type of loads do they prefer? Any problems?

I got mine when they first came out under the Thunder Ranch logo, in November of 2005 if I'm not mistaken. I changed the grips and installed a Red Ramp front sight. I've all but retired my M625 Mountain Gun in favor of the M22, but then I love blued guns. I've been very pleased with mine. Bob!

My thought is that for the same money, you can buy a pretty nice original WW1 1917 that's going to shoot as good or better and hold its value.

After de-flagging it, my 5 1/2 inch 22-4 has become one of my favorite weapons. It's what sits on my nightstand. If I really could get a mint 1917 or NIB vintage Model 22 for the $700 I paid for it I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't think that will happen, though.

I like mine! I shoot more Auto Rim than ACP out of mine, a 255 LSWC at around 850 fps is just the ticket. Accuracy is good and it shoots pretty much to the sights depending on the load at the time.
