Dear S&W Forum, I am looking for opinions from my fellow forum members on the Diamond d custom leather Guides Choice chest holster.

sincerely and respectfully mg357. p.s. the reason i am asking about this holster is because i am thinking about buying one for my S&W model 60-15 .357 magnum revolver.

My list has one very near the top for my 625-6. They are very popular here in the North country. I have a few Cordura type chest holsters that are fine, but the leather Diamond D is a cut above them in my opinion. They run $120-$150 in my area.

Why would you want this style holster for a small revolver like a Model 60, any dash? These are principally useful for heavier, longer barreled and possibly scoped revolvers. If you are looking for a holster handy to draw from while on a motorcycle, ATV, horse, or in a vehicle while driving, you will be far better served by a good quality cross-draw style like the Bianchi Model 111 Cyclone. It can be worn either forward cant strong side or as a cross draw. Model 111 Cyclone? Belt Holster - The Safariland Group

I AGREE WITH Alk8944. tTHE CHEST HOLSTER THAT YOU CONTEMPLATE IS OVERKILL FOR THE REVOLVER YOU ARE PLANNING TO CARRY. THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN LIST A VERSION FOR THAT REVOLVER. I WOULD LOOK AT A NICE LEATHER VERTICAL SHOULDER HOLSTER THAT CAN BE WORN INSIDE A PARKA, OF A SERVICEABLE, CORDURA ONE FOR EXTERIOR WEAR. UNCLE MIKES COMES TO MIND. HERE'S A PIC OF ME CARRYING AN 8" PYTHON IN A CORDURA, CHEST HOLSTER…...

I've been very happy with mine. I like that even though it has a single shoulder strap, once you set it correctly most of the weight is taken up by the chest strap, which isn't necessarily the case with most tanker style or shoulder rigs.

I wear mine primarily when I carry a backpack. Backpack waist straps and hip holsters don't go well together.

Workmanship is great and so is their CS.

i have one for my 4" N frames and it is ideal. i also own the simply rugged chesty puller and much prefer the diamond d

I like my Diamond d chest holsters. I've tried a few other brands of chest holster for use with a backpack but find these to be well made and comfortable; they work best for me. If I'm carrying a pack without a hip belt and a lighter handgun, I prefer a crossdraw holster.
