Hi Everyone

An Australian Online Gun Sales website recently listed this S&W Model 13-3 in Nickel. It's advertised for $500 AUD which is about $350 USD at the current exchange rate. The serial number is AFZ9761 which dates it somewhere around 1988.

I spoke to the Seller last night. There is a small nick on the left side of this gun. Nickel appears to be chipped. Other than that, this Revolver is in good shape. Nil mechanical issues. It appears that the Nickel is factory completed. No rust issues. There is no box or paperwork with this gun.

I've never owned a Nickel gun before. (I am actually hanging out for a blued Model 13 with 3" barrel like what the FBI had issued.)

I would like to hear your thoughts on this gun and if there is anything else I should be looking for when I inspect it next week. Appreciate any feedback.

Sellers photos.

I have a 13-3, SN: AFZ999X that was shipped November 1985. Mine is blue with a 3" barrel. i would advise buying it! A three inch 13-3 is rarely found, and nickel as well (in the condition you describe) is well worth the price. Good luck to you!

EDIT: I would love to hear the story as to how it landed in Australia!

THAT is a good price...my blue 3" RB 13-4 cost me twice that earlier this year.

Hey Moo Moo: Please let us know if you bought that 13-3 or if you passed on it, and why. Thanks.

Yes mate. Going to buy it. Inspected it yesterday. It's good to go. Now I have to apply to my States Firearms registry to get a "Permit to Acquire" before I can actually go through with this transaction.

Glad to read that it will be yours! You are going to love it. Please let us know how it shoots; and, please ask the seller for ANY information on how your 13-3 landed in Australia. The serial number on mine is approx. 230 off from yours and I am guessing it was made the next day. I am sure the back story will be interesting.

Great gun! I have a nickel 3" M13-3. It quickly became on of my favorite S&W's, you will enjoy it! Mine dates to 1985.
