I happened to trade into a modest quantity of this Winchester LE ammunition. Its the 155 grain hollow point in 40 S&W. I normally prefer bullets at the heavy end of what is available and was wondering what performance to expect from these. Anyone have any experience with this load? Thanks,

40 s&w 155

No chronograph numbers but, seems to be both hot and fast. This load is very accurate in
every Glock I've tried it in 27, 23, and 22.

I have read that the Winchester Ranger 155 gr. 40S&W round was developed for a run at a few LE and Fed contracts that specified a 155 gr. round. (Possibly the U.S. Border Patrol, which currently uses 155 gr.) It was dropped due to testing that revealed constant core/jacket separations through certain barriers. Now, I don't know how reliable that source is, but since the 155 is no longer offered, it makes some sense. I still think it would serve the needs of civilian self-defense just fine though.

Thanks Oliver & Houston. I wondered why I could not find this round on the Winchester website. I sure would like to know what the round produces over a chronograph. I am going to assume, based on what Houston provided, that its not a bonded bullet. For SD I don't consider that a liability. Oh well, in today's market you shoot whatever you can get your hands on. Beats a sharp stick any day of the week.

Zowie! Thanks Budda. Those are impressive spec.s - it's more than enough for anything that I am likely to bump into.
