I figured this has been beat to death but, just picked up a Shield 9mm an I'm looking for some opinions on what nights are most folks are putting on the Shield. I haven't a clue b/c this is my first M&P. Appreciate any info. Thanks.

I use Tru Glo on my .40 cal Shield.Good combination of fiber optic and night sights.

Ranger.. How did you get the M&P 40 to be outlined in white like that? That looks really good.

Someone needs to make more rounded rear sight for snag free pocket carry IMO. Currently I just use an Ameriglo front night sight on my Shields and filed the sharp edges off the rear sight.

That is Gold fingernail polish for the outline.I also pocket carry it in a De Santis "E1" pocket holster

Ameriglo on my shield. I also done the lettering on mine with a white paint pen from walmart. Looks amazing. Standing up to abuse really well too.

I use XS big dots on all my SD pistols. not meant for marksmanship, truly a combat type sight... if that helps!

+1

If you are looking for quick target acquisition you can't beat XS Big dot and for poor eye sight the oversized front sight is like large text for reading.

Another +1 - my Shield is for SD, not recreational shooting. I found the XS Big Dots are perfect for flash sight picture with my street bifocals - normal post and notch sights are tough with these glasses, especially in less than perfect light.

Just got TFO with green front & yellow rear. My LGS M&P armorer recommended. I have green/green on my 45. Looking good to me so far.

I agree...in fact whenever I shoot at the range with my SD guns I don't concentrate on trying to get 2 inch groupings. If possible I'll use a human silhouette target and just aim center mass. Hits on target there are what counts for me with an SD gun like a Shield

I'm going to be looking at the XS Big dots or something in the 10-8 line

Thanks Everyone for the input - I'll have to check and make a decision. Good stuff - Thanks.
