Came across a M&P9 Shield Plus Optics Ready with one 13-round magazine & night sights for $349 OTD No Box or paperwork, just the gun & magazine, no manual safety on this one like my other two
I put $35 down to hold it & now only owe $314
The FFLs NICS Checking System was down so I just walked out & am going to call them later to see if they have it fixed yet
This will be my 4th Shield & my 2nd M&P Shield Plus
I also have a Shield 2.0 380EZ, M&P9 Performance Center Shield Plus, & M&P9 Shield 2.0
This will be my First Optics Ready Smith & Wesson BUT also have a SIG Sauer P365XL & Springfield Hellcat OSP with SIG Romeo Zero Red Dots on both
I also have three Shield Plus 9mm magazines in my stash
+ a half dozen holsters too

Picked the M&P9 Shield Plus O.R. up this afternoon & it's "As New" & doesn't have a mark on it & no powder residue & the one magazine looks to never have been loaded ever
Think I'm going to mount a SIG Sauer RomeoZero on it in a while
Photos to come soon
Gary

Here is the Shield Plus OR & it's brothers + SIG P365XL & Springfield Hellcat OSP
One of these two optics pistols might get its red dot taken for the Smith Plus
OR will just buy another for it SOON.

Well done. I grabbed a pre-owned model as well a few months back, $400. No box but it did come with a M&P black carry bag with exterior mag pouches, 2 10-round mags and 3 13-round mags. Been my daily carry for most of the summer. Great pistol, the orange ring around the front sight is really nice. Don't see putting an optic on but I like that it did come with the night sights.

Thanks Brother
This OR Shield9 Plus might just become my #1 carry piece
It will have to beat out a Glock 43X & Springfield Hellcat + SIG P365XL
I really love the M&P Shields, They ROCK!

Looking the OR Shield9 Plus over last night & found that the striker safety is not returning fully outward & cannot be forced into the place it should be even after removal of the striker assembly
I assume it has a bur & will have to stop by the FFL to use their sight pusher to remove the rear sight & have a look
The striker can be pushed forward at any time making it unsafe
I could return it to S&W too
Their quality control lately has been sub-par
Note: in these three photos the most left is the Performance Center Shield Plus, the Center is the OR Shield Plus & most Right hand is the Shield 2.0
I'm very sure I could remove the safety plunger & spin it by hand & cleanup the bur or possibly the bur is in the hole it sits in
The striker & its channel are 100% clean as if it's new = never fired but do see a ring on the breach face like a copper casing has been there, not brass, copper
Wife just left for the doctor & might go out to my Local Gun Store = LGS & used their sight pusher in a while & take a small piece of 1000 grit wet dry sandpaper with me
Also note the extractor's pin on the optics ready is shorter & has red Loctite on it...

Keep an eye on the trigger bar pin (larger of the two pins on the trigger). I had one that would walk out (let to right) under fire and have to tap it back in after every range session. I saw there were several other owners that had the same problem. All were OR ready Shield Plus models. Makes no sense as trigger is the same on all.

Removed rear night sight + striker safety spring + seat & plunger
It was locked up super tight & could barely be pushed all the way down with a punch
Coated the plunger with dykem red & installed it to see were the tight spots where
The hole in the slide had a few burs so I rolled up a piece of wet/dry sandpaper & sanded them out then polished the hole with a Q-Tip in the slow Dremel + the safety plunger with Mother's Polish
Reassembled everything dry as it should be & also got anal about the two roll pins not being equal on each side with the roll pin punch
All is good & ready for the range

My Performance Center Shield9 Plus also had that pin walked out slightly, I used a block & set it back flush, all is OK so far...

Where's the Max 9 ?

Here's something I noticed last night about the OR Shield Plus
The frame is not painted like the earlier Shield Pluses
It has a texture & its grip texture is a bit more aggressive than the Performance Center Shield Plus
If you are looking for it you can see the changes that were made
Left to Right >#1 Painted PC+, #2 OR Shield +, & #3 Original Shield 2.0

Wow! I thought it was just me and my OCD running wild. You are correct. The grip texture is much more like the 2.0 and no cerakote. Was not a fan.

The frame now has a texture on the smoother part all over
Look hard at the photo, it is much improved
I don't care for the Cera-Coat painted grey frame
Just something about it

Was going to try the SIG Romeo Zero red dot site on the OR Shield Plus but the hardware that came with it M3/M4 were incorrect for the Shield
Guess I will purchase the Shield SMS from CDNN made for S&W
Just a couple photos of the plate removed & the other slimline pistols the M&P Shields compete with
Have a couple optics cut holsters for the Shields in my stash

Kidney Surgery this Friday Morning
Not looking forward to that :(

Picked up the unmarked Shield SMS in M&P by Smith & Wesson package
Came with battery + cover & mounting screws, instructions & zeroing sticker & guide that goes in the end of a 9mm barrel
Installation was uneventful & went right on & was zeroed from the factory & lines up 100% where the iron sights point :D

4th Shield Coming *NOW*

Came across a M1.0 M&P Shield Performance Center 40 S&W with ported barrel & slide + Night Sights for $349 & had to put 10% down so it wouldn't get away
I sold off my last three 40 S&W handguns last month & that left several hundred rounds of 40 S&W in my stash
Now I will be setup to dispose of those as needed :D
More to come, very soon
Going to wait a few weeks before picking it up I do believe
~~~NO HURRY~~~
This is the one I came across, now discontinued
ARCHIVE: Performance Center(R) Ported M&P(R)40 SHIELD™ Night Sights | Smith & Wesson
Pray for my Wife of 40 years, Tamara, I had to take Her to the Hospital late yesterday evening & really won't know much until I talk to a doctor later this morning
