Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. This here is a 3-9/40 redfield scope with accurange reticle on a primary arms one piece scope mount, with railed upper rings, with the primary arms gen2 micro red dot on top. All boresighted.

I think this is going to be the final setup of my 15-22.

But first I am going to torture test it on my AR-10(like) rifle which is sure to rattle loose anything not nailed down including the bench.

We have about $160 + $40 + $80 or so invested here.

My initial impressions of the redfield is that it is photographic quality glass. Just a little worse than my best glass which is in the $1K range. Only thing wrong with the scope so far is the mushy clicks on the elev/wind knobs. They may tighten up with some use.

The Red Dot is the Gen2 PA micro with kill flash. It is a veteran on many a range trip.

I have been practicing moving from 3-9 scope to 1x red dot and back and it seems very natural. I am trying to keep the BAC working on transition and it is giving me a headache, but is fun enough for me to tolerate it.

So, better pics and range report tomorrow.

Nice optics setup, Jeff. Like the idea of the dot on top. I've got a Burris PEPR that I was considering for a similar setup with the PA Micro Dot.

It's nice to see the Redfield name back. I still have several rifles wearing Redfield scopes made back in the 60's and 70's when they produced top notch optics. For those who don't know, Redfield is being produced in the United States of America by Leupold at the lower end of the scope market with prices in the $130+ range.

Nice looking and very functional setup you have there Sir. It should provide many hours of fun paper punching or hunting whichever you choose.

Exactly why I went that way. I'm in the IT field and see enough jobs going to India, China, and Brazil. If a product is good and made here, I'll buy it even at a marginally higher price. Hopefully more and more companies in the US will focus on competitive pricing with good quality so I can do this more often.

Finally, pics ON the rifle.

The setup is fantastic. The transition "straight up" as opposed to a 1 oclock position is instant and with just a few minutes of training thrillingly precise.

It is tricky getting the alignment exact. The dot of the red dot should be aligned with the vertical line of the reticle of the scope. It is a smooth transition vertically back and forth.

10 meters to 1000 meters and back.

This is the rifle I want to can.

Yhm 30 cal phantom... and that's all I got to say about that....:D .. I've gotta friend with one if you wanna try 1 out

I would love to give it a try.

I could Get the QD flash hiders for my 22, 223, and 308 and use it on all three. Indeed, this is the plan. The problem is that as the bore gets bigger, so does the price!!! :-)
