Orange thing with SW40VE? And.. Laser?

I picked up my first NEW semi auto ever today. A SW40VE. Its also my first S&W semi.

I have 2 questions:

1) What is that little orange thingy that came with it in the case?

2) Anyone know who makes a good laser for the mount?

Chamber empty indicator; just stick the round part in the chamber and close the slide on it.

If you do a search on EBAY (yes, I know its evil) and do a search for S&W sigma, you can usually find an adapter that converts the proprietary sigma laser mount to the standard tactical mount. Then you can use any laser you would like.

I got a nice little laser for my Sigma from these guys:

TDR911 is actually a member on this forum, and he was very helpful. His laser is custom-fit for the non-standard rails on our Sigmas, and it looks OEM when it's installed!

Good Luck with this pistol--it's a lot of "Bang for the Buck!"

They stopped sending me catalogs in December..probably because of how much crap I was giving them in November and December...
