Well the shipment arrived on Saturday.Sorry to make it look like I was making a mountain out of a molehill but when I spend good money on something I want to know where it is.I also like to see how parts of the transportation industry operates.Anyhow, they shipped it via UPS to Denver where it was turned over to our illustrious postal workers.

The amount of styrofoam popcorn in the box probably accounted for half the shipping expense. It'll probably be a while before I find all the pieces that flew out when I opened the box.

Just made 5qts. of chili and have a rack of ribs thawing so I'm not sure what to try these spices on first.Hopefully it's good stuff.I have no idea what "Cajun" tastes like but I'll find out soon enough.

We expect a full report on it. BTW: real cajun starts out mild and tasteful when it hits your taste buds, but quickly escalates to a three alarm fire. Not a 5 alarm like real Texas chili, but an honest 3 alarm that stays with you a while. That's just one of the things I learned in the French Quarter of New Orleans. :D

We do lotsa ordering online. Mostly from Amazon.
Out where we live it's either do that, do lotsa driving searching for stuff or do without.
In fact, I just ordered a replacement ballast for our kitchen light.
Here in Cleveland, if you want photographic equipment not available at Walmart or Target, you're going to order it online.

There's basically ONE camera store chain in Cleveland, and they keep closing locations. There's one little independent out in Avon near the new Cabela's, but they can only stock so much.

There's quite literally NO place local I can buy a 55mm to 49mm macro stacking ring in NE Ohio. It's either Amazon (or somebody else online) or NOTHING.

Books are even worse. There's NO place to buy a Collector Grade gun book, not even at gun shows here anymore. Squadron-Signal aircraft books? You're driving to Wright-Patterson AFB, or Norwalk... if the hobby shop there is still open.

There are just some things not available in some places.

This morning at about 6:30am I was getting ready for work and my son for school. We heard a truck outside, and my kid said somebody is on the front porch. I went to check. Oddly enough it was a driver from the Post Office. He delivered two of the boxes I was expecting. Tracking had them both being delivered tomorrow.

I've never seen the Post Office (or anyone other than the newspaper for that matter) deliver stuff that early. They must be trying to stay ahead of the holiday rush.

Everybody complains about the Post Office, but I say that's pretty darn good service.
