While looking at the "favorite car" thread, I was reminded of the Mercedes S Class, in particular (I believe) the "SS". This was the predecessor of the "SSK" roadster.
For the life of me, I can't find a decent picture of, or information about the SS.
Many years ago in the greatly missed Kroch's & Brentano's in downtown Chicago, I found a wonderful picture book on Mercedes cars. What really captured my interest was the "SS"(?) which was the larger predecessor to the "SSK". In the book, there was even one with a ring mount for a Lewis Gun.
Does anybody know where online I can find information about the original 1920s-1930s "S" series Mercedes? Even the ones that mention the SSK say virtually nothing about the SS.
