I thought "Thanksgiving Weekend" should be dead. Not so, grasshopper. Place was jumping, lotsa folks everywhere except for the "CWP class." Since there are maybe a dozen 01 FFL's left crowds formed 6 thick around gun tables. Mostly black guns there and everything otherwise 90% Turkish manufacture with a dozen different names. Prices for similar guns varied 5% up or down across the show. I had the Doc and my son-in-law in tow and was not looking for anything, just watching the crowd. The "4473 chairs" had butts in them so money was changing hands. Funny, 10 years ago wads of cash would be showing, now it's all plastic. Just as well, getting trespassed for selling your personal property is not fun. I did see exactly 1 S&W model 10-(?) for $399 in maybe 90% condition, left it for someone else. I was tempted by Khaled's (Shoot Straight) Sig 365 "2 tone" for $450, Stainless slide is attractive here in the swamp. I did have the cash for it but Doc had to be home by 1:30 or SWMBO would be torqued. 4473's at SS tables were running an hour or more. I don't need it anyways. AR's have hit a new low, "Radical" arms were $375 but plastic lowers just don't seem "right." We bugged out right at 1 and got Doc in his driveway @ 1:33 so no trouble. No chili-cheese-fries again but Mexican was a great substitute. Last gun show for 2023, a pretty good year all things considered. Truth be told, much as we complain/ malign it, when this pitiful show disappears I and many others will miss it. Joe
