Out with the New, in with the Old.

The 338wm is old school when compared to the newer wizz bang calibers of today. When I touch her off at the range I shake my head and say why did I buy this cannon. But I hit a bear and she went up in the air and landed upside down dead on the spot she bled out. The 225gr bullet broke three ribs on the exit. Using new Winchester super 225gr ammo my '94 Remington 700 can put two bullets through the hole at 100yds. I wanted a new caliber big enough to hunt the thin skinned game anywhere in the world. I knew the 30 cals were out of the question. The 375 H&H was also in the running. I chose the 338wm back in '94. My only regrets is I didn't get the Browning BAR in 338wm. As I get older I'm sure the recoil is going to be harsh on me. But she's my bear rifle. Bill

No school like the old school! :D

This is my first rifle with a bore size north of 30 cal and I really like it.
