Just a quick note that if anyone is in the Market for a Safe Check out DRAKE SAFE CO IN NC. Bought 1 in April, First class Safe ALL HAND WELDED WITH 1/4 AND 3/8 PLATE THROUGHOUT BODY AND DOORS HAVE 14 1 INCH CHROME MOLLY BOLTS. I researched them for some time... Built Better then a Liberty Safe and about $2000.00 Less. Shop is here in NC but he ships anyplace. Great Customer Service, Small Local Business. After Nov 3 there may be more B&E's for weapons... buy a safe folks.

Give me some insight as to why you believe it's built better than a Liberty.
And, what comparative size specifications allow such a difference on pricing that you stated?
$2000.00 difference is not a small chunk of change.
Thanx,
bdGreen

Size of safe and what it weights go a long way in telling me a good story. I have a Fort Knox and its heavy.

How about you finish with your testimonial!

They're at the big Raleigh show, and others. They make a great quality safe, and will build to suit. Not "fancy" but the safe is well built.
I would have bought one over the same size Liberty except it was too heavy for where it was going to being placed. A good thing for security though.
If I recall, the price was less but I'm not sure by how much.

Easy Body 1/4 Steel Plate...liberty 7 Ga or 1/16th thick. Door 3/8's, Door Frame 1/2 inch... Fire board liner. Liberty has none of those features.

Read above your fort knox has none of those qualities my 42 rifle safe is 6 feet tall, 54 Inch wide, 29 inch deep and weighs 1800LBS empty for 3900.00USD Delivered with a Dig Lock tumbler. Hows that for a testimonial.

Liberty's drill snapping ball-bearing hard plate, gear drive mechanism with slip clutch and thicker 7 gauge steel body combine to enhance security. 1/16 plate.... Drakes are 2 times thicker standard AND that will Custom make the body to up to 1/2 inch plate with a 1/4 inner between fire liner and body for a little more.

No dog in the fight here, but we had a couple California companies (Vault Pro for one) that was the same way. Liberty (depending on what line of course) makes a really nice RSC, these guys (like Vault Pro) make a serious vault substituting steel for beauty.

I have a really nice Browning, but it doesn't have near the steel as Vault Pro, Sturdy, or probably Drake according to the OP.

I'll look into it OP, I am one state away and I am looking for a new safe as my other one is packed to the hilt.

They don't have a website? I'm not a bookfacer.

Its nice, beats me by a little:cool: Thats what I was asking "what does she have"!

My Knox purchased in 2003 has a lot of the extra options weights in at about 1500#+ dry, 72.5 tall,41'' wide and 27''deep. electronic lock.

I will keep this in mind wife is pushing me to move and I might need a different safe in future.

Vault Pro Built a very Good safe but as of Jan 2020 it was my understanding they are out of Business. They used 1/4inch plate also and would custom build to your needs.
