Hey ya'll, I have been carrying a M&P9 shield for several months, but as the arthritis in my hands keep making it hard to grip the shield. I traded for a M&P9 compact. Anyway, I want a good owb holster for this old fat man. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What brand did you use for the Shield? As the compact is relatively close in size to the Shield, if you were happy with the holster before that may be a good starting point for the compact

Hello. I had a big problem with a new Galco Corvus holster - whenever I holstered my M&P 9 Compact with ambidextrous safety, the holster would push the safety downward to the "OFF" position, effectively placing the 9C in the ready/fire mode. This was witnessed and verified by an experienced shooting companion. I contacted Galco customer service and returned the holster. Galco verified the problem and offered to replace the Corvus holster with a leather Summer Comfort model. I accepted and am a happy camper. Lesson: be careful buying a holster on-line. See and try the holster before buying. Regards, Ed

You can't go wrong with a Wright Leather Works "Predator"

Leather or kydex? Active or passive retention? Cvw or Home carry? 3, 4, 5 or 6 o'clock carry? Light or laser attached?

Milt Sparks makes some excellent, long lasting gun leather. If you want something Kydex, I recently discovered BlackPoint Tactical. I have a leather wing holster for aG17/22 with attached light, and placed an order for a second for my M&P 9c with a weapons light.

I had great luck with Pivateer Leather- Wes Dahl, owner, is a superb craftsman and has great customer service. I've bought several holsters from him, to include for my 9c. Couldn't be happier
