I was in a gun shop today and was able to hold and inspect a Sig Sauer P250 for the first time. I can't sugar coat this, the P250 is a ***! I can't believe Sig would release such a product with such fanfare. Also, for all the bad press that S&W took for developing the Sigma, the Sigma is head and shoulders above the P250. The guy behind the counter seemed to agree with me that Sig is not off to a good start in the polymer handgun race. First the SP2022 and now this plastic brick? I expected much better! I guess I will enjoy my P229 for many more years.

Not sure how your post belongs in a S&W forum, but I will say I own both a Sigma & P250. While both are good pistols at their price point, if I could keep only one of the two, I would keep the Sig.

Guess you never shot a P250?? Not the best looking guns, but very nice for the price.

I am not usually a critic of Sig handguns- I really like the P220 & P229. I just can't understand how Sig can expect the P250to compete with Glock & the S&W M&P. I hope the gun shoots well, because the fit & pointability factors left alot to be desired. Also, the gun looks like it was designed with a crayon. I expected better from Sig.

Sorry, I realize that I posted in the wrong forum.

I looked at the 250 compact but ended up getting a Sig 290. That was the best decision I ever made. That little gun is awsome. I was wanting to get a pocket 9mm and this is what I was looking for. Now that the Shield is out I will get one next year when S&W works out the kinks that are popping up.

They're not that bad! :D

Yes, they do seem like a joke when you compare them to a 220, but a lot of things are that way in this world these days. I guess the theory is that if you don't know what good stuff was like, you won't miss it, so... the conversion is in-process.

What I like about the P250, is the double strike capability. I haven't seen a Shied yet, but I believe that it's a single strike pistol, with a barrel that's half an inch shorter. Also, I haven't heard of the P250's dropping magazines.
