P365 - FIRST TIME A PLASTIC GUN HAS ACTUALLY SPARKED MY INTEREST

I have no love loss for modern plastic (polymer) guns and up until very recently would not have given them a second look. That said, since the Sig P365 hit the market I have been interested in learning more about it and thinking about possibly making a switch from my M60-7 to such a Pistol. Up until this afternoon I have not actually seen one up close or handled one.

When out at the Range today with a bunch of friends I saw one of them was toting one and I asked him if I could have a look. He cleared it and handed it to me. I was pretty impresses by both the gun and the magazine that holds 10 rounds. I did not have time to shoot it but I have to say the trigger and reset were both pretty sweet! My friend said he would let me shoot a box through it next time and I am looking forward to doing so. So far he said he has fired 700 rounds out of it without a hic-cup.

The one thing I am a bit concerned about is that the trigger is quite light for a striker fired pistol with no safety and normally a round in the chamber. Before passing judgement I will fire 50 or so rounds through it.

I shoot my M60-7 pretty darn well and am extremely comfortable and confident in it. The only downside is its 5 round capacity. Today the 9mm ammo has been brought to a new level and a 10 +1 round pistol in a pocket size pistol is hard to argue against. So I am looking forward to shooting it now.

I have been curious about the sig as well. I struck up a conversation with guy at the range who had rented one. He offered a few rounds and the chance to fire it, super nice guy. I was impressed with the overall size of the pistol it really is small. Like you I was also more shocked by how light the trigger was. I dry fired a round to test the trigger first and then fire maybe 3-4 rounds and I was shocked as it is a light pull compared to the other pocket pistols I've fired. I'm still on the fence about one for several reasons: light trigger on a pocket pistol, recalls and other reports regarding parts breaking and shaking loose. I'm kind of in the boat of sticking with my 649 for a year and letting Sig work the kinks out.

This here it has a very light trigger or at least it feels that way. But when I compared them to my 2 glocks there wasn’t much difference. But I wasn’t scientific about it, I just went by touch.

But ergonomics and capacity blow all the others out of the water. My wife loves it. She’s a real estate agent showing houses and that fit the bill better then the Glock 27 or my M&P 340 for capacity.

I love mine. It has a much better trigger than my shield and just plain shoots better. Shield is for sale.

I decided to save $200 and bought a PPS M2 LE. I’m not convinced that SIG has totally mastered the plastic gun quite yet. [emoji846]

Smart man. I did the same exact thing. No regrets. Once I gets the P365 together and drops the price closer to $400, I'll bit.

It is a remarkable little gun and shoots extremely well. I just need to adjust my grip for the size and weight or should I say lack of weight. I am pulling to the left but by compensating where I aim I can hit the center of the target easily from 25 yds. With the 12 round magazine it does grow a bit heavier and larger but not significantly......I found mine locally from a dealer, out the door for $500......would have preferred to pay less but there just aren’t enough of them being produced to drive down market prices. I liked my Glock 26 with a G19 15 round magazine but the weight of that configuration required a holster at all times. The 365 is truly a pocket pistol and is a worthy replacement for the Glock. Here is my Glock wearing the 15 round mag and sleeve and the 365 with its 12 round mag. Throw on the flat base 10 round mag and you can really bury it on your person.

I am an old revolver guy. I began my law enforcement career, 40 years ago, carrying revolvers. Even when we went to semi autos I always carried a revolver for backup/admin/undercover. Since retirement I have almost exclusively carried a revolver. My EDC for the past few years has been a 940, J frame, which I love.

THEN, SIG came out with the 365. It took a while to get my hands on one but I finally did. I qualified with it in June and it has completely assumed duty as my every day carry. Basically the same size as the 940 with double the rounds. The gun thinks its a full size pistol. It is accurate and has very little recoil for a small gun. I have carried other small semi's in the past and all were finicky. You had to give up some reliability for the size. Not so with the 365. I know others have complained about issues, but I have had none and I am completely confident in the gun.

The 365 has the flat base 10 round magazine for these photos. That's what I usually carry in it as I carry it in an ankle holster.

I recently bought one ANIB for $375. I'm not a fan of pocket carry, not saying it's a bad thing, just not for me. I carry mine in a Don Hume JIT slide holster, and I prefer the extended 12 round magazine because it allows me to get a better shooting grip. Some people have said that getting the last round in the 12 round magazine is a bear to do. I've not had that issue with mine. The trigger does feel light, but mine has a crisp break that I like. I've not had any issues with mine yet, and it's a great gun for carry here in Texas. I can throw on a light shirt and the 365 just disappears under it. Sig did it right with this one.

I just got one a couple weeks ago. It has digested WW White box, Remington 115 FMJ, 124 Gr Bayou coated lead (my load), 124 JHP (My Load), and 147 gr Bayou coated (my load), and 147 Hornady XTP (my load). No problems, and have about 200 rounds through it. What I was a little surprised about was all loads seem to shoot to near the same POA, (Just a little left and low with all loads) but think a lot of that is me as I adjust myself to the grip.

So far, I'm sold. The ergonomics are great, functioning 100%, and accuracy very acceptable.

I own one striker fired pistol, a Kahr 380 up until today. I hadn’t bought a Sig in 31 years due to an issue I had with them over a W German P226.
I finally took my friend WCCPHD’s advice and bought a new 365 today. Cost me $519.07 OTD with the factory provided 10 rd mags, and a 12 rd mag.
Two cops in front of me picked up 365’s and I got the last 12 rd mag.
I’ll be hitting the plates sometime this weekend.

Bought my first one in March, the second in July. After a couple hundred rounds I have yet to carry anything else other than a LCPII when I am in a Speedo. (Please don't ask if it goes in the front or back)
I feel bad for my snubbies that haven't seen the light of day for seven months.

Nearing 4000 rounds with the March gun. They are just flat out perfect for most carry situations.

You men aren't helping me at all. I handled a P365 a couple of months ago, felt great in the hand. I've been telling myself, NO, stick with your 1911 and 642. Must resist......

Love mine and carry it in my pocket to work daily. Never had any real issues other than when its really dirty I had the occasional FTE. Again that is when it's hot and dirty with range ammo.

I hate the X-ray sights and will eventually look into other sights but in a self-defense situation, you are not likely to use your sights anyway.
