P365 range session

So I took my newly acquired P365 and one of my CS9’s to the range this morning. I was shooting at metal plates at 10 and 15 yds to check for function.
I aquired this CS9D about two months ago and failed to change out the springs. Dumb mistake as I’m certain I have fresh springs in my stash.The gun failed miserably with FTE, OOB issues. Four mags, back into the range bag.

Now onto the P365. I had some probably ten year old 115gr RNL reloads, some fresh factory Federal 115gr ball, and some fresh Speer 124gr standard pressure GDHP.
The 365 ate up and spit out every one of 250 rds, using two 10 rd and one 12 rd magazine. This gun runs like a fine tuned machine, color me impressed.

A visual comparison to the CS9. The 365 is smaller in all aspects, but maybe a tad heavier due to the extra 5 rds. The 365 slips in my pocket as does the CS9 but the 365 feels much better.

I’ll give the CS9 another whirl with new springs but doubt my mind would change one bit. I have shot my other CS9’s, just wanted a side by side comp. The 365 is superior, imo, don’t see any sub 9 beating it out, none.

With the additional five rds it’s a no brainer to me which one to carry. I have no holster yet for the 365 but as soon as I find a suitable one it shares duty with my model 38-3, which before today was my constant companion.

I got gun religion today, the P365 is a winner, no telling how many of them Sig will sell.

Honestly, I forgot about that issue and didn’t even look, I was so happy with the way it performed. I will look next time, maybe early next week, and report back.

SIG 365

Glad to hear all the good things about this gun. I plan to buy one after the first of the year, when SIG comes out with a 365 with a thumb safety on it. I have been told by SIG customer service that its in the works.

Rather than add another thread review on the 365, I'll tag onto this one.

After an incredibly long wait, I finally received the P365 I'd ordered 6 months ago. That wait was caused by the recall of earlier produced models, the popularity of the gun and my unwillingness to pay more than $500. Wait is over and here's my take on the gun. Pluses: It's a Sig, meaning it's well made, well within expected accuracy standards, and at least so far, is retaining resale value. For a small defense weapon, another big plus is it holds 10 rounds in the standard magazines (2 included with the gun), though you'll struggle to get the last two in the magazine. There are also 12 round magazines available, if you can find them without paying an arm and leg, that not only offer two extra rounds, but also an extension that makes griping the gun much more comfortable. As with all extended magazines, you do gain a bit of weight and add a bit more to conceal, two trade offs that are well worth it IMHO. As with the 10 round mags, getting in the last two rounds is difficult. The only minuses I can find are take down and recoil. The take down should be easy, and according to videos online, is but for some reason, mine is stubborn both taking down and reassembling. This may be operator induced and get better as I get more proficient with the gun, we'll see. Recoil is as expected from a small light weight gun - uncomfortable. Still, that's a relatively small price to pay for the concealability and high firepower this package provides. While the gun won't win any target matches, it's accuracy is more than adequate for its intended use, which is close quarters defense. The target below is 10 yards using Sig 147 grain ammo (another reason for the stiff recoil). On a 5 star rating system, I'd give it a solid 4.5 stars, which may actually increase to 5 if the mags get easier to load with use and I master the take down process. If you are looking for one of the ultimate concealability and firepower solutions, this is it.

As Tom stated, loading the last round of two is somewhat difficult, so I use my handy dandy Uplula.
My carry ammo will be, for now, Speer 124 gr standard pressure GDHP, the recoil being very manageable, to me.

I bought my first one in March and my second in July. Over 3500 rounds fired out of March and I am convinced I would do nothing to improve this little gun. My first holster was a Garretts Silent Thunder GT. Great for IWB hip carry, but my second is a Vedders LightTuck with claw and for the last three months I have gone to AWIB and find after getting used to the change, it is now my first choice and I have now been able to wear a tucked shirt with zero printing. In my opinion, the Silent Thunder GT with it's leather lining is great, but the Vedder lays flatter and would be MY first choice. For reference, I am 6'3" 200 lbs.

FYI, I have been carrying my P365 in my Shield holster. The fit is a tiny bit loose, but by the time it is tightened on my belt it is plenty snug. Holster is a DeSantis scabbard OWB.

I have no doubt. My LC9s goes from "That's a little fruity" with 124 gr ammo to "I don't like this" with 147 gr. Nice shooting, BTW.

I work at a range and my gun has been passed around from co-worker to customers and with well over a dozen sold to various people I have yet to find anyone who dislikes that gun. The P365 is the only duplicate firearm I have ever owned in 55 years of shooting.

Well, I hadn’t planned on getting one anytime soon but we were in the N. Georgia Mountains for an extended weekend and we went to my favorite (and cheapest priced) gun shop within 150 miles of my house. They got a load of them in on Friday and sold all but a couple. At $549 I wasn’t motivated but when he went down to $499 he motivated me. Haven’t shot it yet but the trigger pull feels better than my Glock 43 that I’ve been carrying for the last two years. Trigger reset is also more solid than the 43. Trigger pull on the 365 is measuring around 5.5-6. Going back and forth from the 365 to the Glock 43, the feel in my hand is a lot better on the 365, making the 43 feel slab sided. Build date on my P365 is Sept. 5 2018. Once I figured out takedown it’s quick and easy, and reassembly is quick too. Hopefully I can get to the range soon, then put my 43 up for sale.

I have found the take down lever a bit “stiff” as in it needed some force to rotate to the 6 o’clock position.
Reassembly was a breeze to me.

I bought one yesterday at a Gander Outdoors for 475.00 plus 6% state sales tax. Shot 100 rounds today at my club range. There is nothing that I dis like about this gun. It is a keeper.

I picked one up at a gunshow this weekend. I had traded off a Kimber Micro Nine and was looking for a replacement. There were plenty of Glock 43s and Ruger LC9s around as well as some Kahr pistol of various sizes. Only one dealer had Sig P365s and he gave me a cash price of $509 OTD (the price tag was $529 + tax = $571) which I took.

When I got home, I did a quick wipe-down and headed out to my range with a variety of rounds to test it out. I used Speer 124 grain Gold Dot Standard Velocity and +P, Guard Dog, Corbon Pow'r Ball, and 115 grain FMJ. The gun ate everything without a problem. Although recoil is a little snappy, it's actually more comfortable than with the Micro Nine I got rid of.

The only negative is that the magazine springs are rather stiff, but I'm hoping that they'll loosen up a bit with use.

Picked up my first 365 holster today at the Raleigh show. The maker is a somewhat local guy who will make custom jobs if you ask, this is a stock IWB holster.

Plenty of 365’s at the show from 500 otd and up.

Seems to be an abundance of 365’s available now. At the gun show yesterday I spotted at least five of them ranging from $500otd ( a good deal, imo) to $579+ tax.
The local cop shop just got in a new shipment, those are priced $448+ tax.
